Plant the seed.

Xanadu a symbol for  inspiration and poetic creation.

In Samuel Taylor Coleridge's poem "Kubla Khan," Xanadu represents a mythical, idyllic paradise infused with a mysterious, powerful force. It is a place of great beauty, a dreamscape for the imagination, yet it also possesses the potential for terror and destruction. I find this description aptly reflects the ADHD mind—magical when understood and transformed through the process of alchemy.

Getting older - finding you.

Holistic practice to find a calm place to be creative in the "Golden Years" useing the Wiki-Woo

At university, we were told never to use Wikipedia. It wasn't proven, properly researched or academically cited; it changes day to day. That's the beauty of the Wiki-Woo: it's trusting in your higher self, trusting your intuition, believing there is more power within our own psyche to see the flaws, do your own research, then make change happen. Throw off that straitjacket and explore your own creative path without the rule book.

Don't believe everthing  you hear or see. There are always three sides of the story: yours, theirs and the truth.

Being neordivergent comes with positive traits. It is associated with heightened intuition that allows insights that the normal person can't see and and miss . You get to see the bigger picture in all its flamboyant glamour and glory, experience the inner firework displays and roller coaster rides of self-belief. James Watson and Francis Crick, in their discovery of the double helix structure of DNA was influenced by intuition. Watson and Crick pieced together various experimental results and visualized the structure, guided by their instincts about how genetic information might be stored.

Allow yourself to think out of the BOX. It allows you to become richer in understanding complex systems and can  lead to breakthroughs in your creative process.

Creating this platform is my weird way of disappearing, going in search of consciousness, the loner looking for his true self. I’m not looking for likes or comments, simply sharing with others that may find my journal inspirational for their own journey. It never ends, this journey, it’s ongoing for many lives, there’s no such word as retirement for folk like me.

Have you considered the possibilities of using a spiritual journey to aid in rebuilding a new life? This could be the answer to combating the negative aspects of the oncoming elder years. Engaging with spirituality opens doors; it leads us into the realm of the "Wiki-woo," ancient wisdom, newly discovered metaphysics, and the universe unfolds new possibilities. There are some amazing teachers of spirituality out there, such as Greg Braden, Bruce Lipton, and Joe Dispenza, who focus on positive change and healing the past.

Don't think of a spiritual journey as being part of a constrained religious organization; it can be much broader and more rewarding. https://tcche.org

The  Creative Explosion

How many of us experience an explosion of ideas that seem feasible, well-intentioned, and capable of making a change in our lives while positively affecting others? Yet somehow, we lose the thread, and all of it disappears into the ether. The links provided may help restore your confidence and imaginative flow.

Walk Away from the Distractions.

Finding the space to pursue your creative projects can be challenging in today's society. The pervasive distractions from social media, particularly the short video clips on platforms like TikTok, often pull our attention away from what truly matters. Additionally, the constant barrage of negative news in the media amplifies this issue. We are further influenced by the social environment around us, where the effects of these distractions and negativity are continually visible.

To cultivate a more productive and inspiring atmosphere for creativity, it's essential to consciously carve out time and space away from these distractions. This might involve setting boundaries on social media use, creating a dedicated workspace, or even engaging in mindfulness practices to help refocus our thoughts.

Allow the Ideas to Come To Light.

I have found AI to be a game-changer. It doesn’t get stuck in imposter syndrome or dwell on past failures; instead, it helps you focus on the task at hand. However, it's important to always be yourself and maintain your true identity and character.

Overload of  Ideas Becomes a Foggy Mess

Brain fog is a common experience for many individuals with ADHD. It refers to a state of mental cloudiness or confusion that can affect cognitive functions. Here’s a deeper look at brain fog in the context of ADHD:

What is Brain Fog?

  • Cognitive Impairment: Brain fog can manifest as a temporary inability to think clearly, remember things, or concentrate.
  • Subjective Experience: People describe it as feeling mentally sluggish, disoriented, or having trouble with focus.

Mindfulness.

Mindfulness plays a crucial role in reducing distractions for individuals with ADHD in several key ways:

Mindfulness practices cultivate a heightened awareness of the present moment. This increased awareness helps you  notice when our  attention begins to drift away from a task, allowing us to recognise distractions before they escalate. By becoming more attuned to our  thoughts and feelings, we can quickly identify when our focus shifts, whether due to internal thoughts or external stimulation.

Through mindfulness training, we can learn techniques for redirecting our focus back to the task at hand. Practices like mindful breathing or body scans teach us to gently bring our attention back whenever it strays. This skill becomes more refined over time, enabling better control over attention and reducing the impact of distractions.

Mindfulness encourages a non-reactive approach to thoughts and sensations. Instead of becoming overwhelmed or frustrated by distractions, we learn to observe them without judgment. This helps in reducing the emotional response to distractions, allowing us to stay calmer and more focused.

Practicing mindfulness promotes cognitive flexibility, which is the ability to adapt one’s thinking in response to changing circumstances. This flexibility allows us to manage distractions more effectively, as we can shift their focus back to relevant tasks without getting stuck in a cycle of frustration or distraction.

Mindfulness has a calming effect that can alleviate stress and anxiety, both of which can exacerbate distractions. When we are less stressed, we are better equipped to manage our attention and resist the pull of distractions.

Incorporating mindfulness into a daily routine fosters a sense of structure, which can be particularly beneficial for individuals with ADHD. Regular mindfulness practice can help establish habits that support sustained attention and reduce the likelihood of becoming easily distracted.

Overall, mindfulness equips individuals with ADHD with valuable tools to manage distractions.

Believe In yourself.

You can do it; it's never too late. Amazing people have accomplished incredible things in their late '80s and '90s. Don't get lazy, despondent, or caught up in things you can't control, as these will lead to sickness and misery. Be bold, adventurous, and if you failed TRY, TRY AGAIN; .

Failure is part of the journey; it's your unique story that AI can't write or narrate. Your adventure is yours alone —"only you, can be yourself".

In the following link, you can find inspiration from the comments, such as, "At 93, I didn't expect..." People often forget what life was like before communication became so easy. Embrace this new lease on life—don’t give up on your dreams! Overcoming obstacles is hard work, so don’t waste the rest of your life sitting in front of a TV screen. My brain evolved, and I learned how to articulate my ideas.
